SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA JUNIOR AMATEUR GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP REGISTRATION INFORMATION

 

12TH SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA JUNIOR AMATEUR GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

All participants must have: 1) an active SCGA Membership and 2) a Golf Genius profile to register for an event.

 

CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT:

  • 54 holes; stroke play.
  • 72 boys, comprised of exempt players and qualifiers, will compete in the championship on the Legends Course.  
  • 72 girls, comprised of exempt players and qualifiers, will compete in the championship on the Champions Course.
  • This is a walking-only event.
  • Caddies will not be permitted to accompany a player in qualifying or championship proper.

 

Friday, October 16: Round 1 (18 holes).

Saturday, October 17: Round 1 (18 holes).

 

Following the second round, the field will be cut to the low 30 scores (and ties) in each division.

 

Sunday, October 18: Round 3 (18 holes).

 

All non-exempt players will participate in an 18-hole, stroke-play qualifying round. The qualifier and championship proper will be walking-only.

 

QUALIFYING ROUNDS (18 Holes):

Saturday, September 26: Temecula Creek GC (Creek/Stonehouse), Temecula

Sunday, September 27: Green River GC, Corona

Sunday, September 27: Olivas Links, Ventura

 

ELIGIBILITY: This championship is open to amateur golfers who are members of a current SCGA member club with a Handicap Index of (5.4 or less (boys) or 9.4 or less (girls) at the time of registration. Entrants must not have reached their 19th birthday as of October 17, 2025.

 

EXEMPTIONS:

All exempt players must still meet eligibility requirements and register online for the championship prior to the entry closing date. The current list of exemptions can be found online by clicking here.

 

ENTRIES OPEN:  

Monday, August 24, 2026, at 8:00 a.m.

 

ENTRY DEADLINE:  

Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

 

CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION & PAIRINGS: Complete tournament details, including information about practice rounds, pairings, starting times, and yardages, will be emailed and posted on scga.org and scpgajrtour.com after the entry deadline.

CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRY FEE: $285 (Exempt players will pay this fee).

 

QUALIFIER FEE: $125 (Individuals who qualify will be charged an additional $285 championship fee)

 

LATE ENTRIES: The SCGA accepts late entries, assuming space is still available at the given event. Late entries will be subject to an additional $20 fee and can only be processed over the phone or through email. 

 

REFUND POLICY: Requests for refunds before the entry closing date will be honored less a $20 administrative fee. Requests received after the entry closing date and 48 hours before the event will be honored less 50% of the entry fee. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.
